The product

Your corner of Upwork, measured.

The free research on this site covers the whole marketplace. A niche report runs the same outcome analysis on one specialty: yours. Demand, fill rate, time-to-fill, stated budgets, client quality, and the skip signals specific to that niche, in one artifact.

Sample report

July 2026 edition

Amazon PPC, measured end to end

The exact artifact a buyer receives, generated from 2,397 monitored Amazon PPC postings: a 50.5% fill rate (6.6 points above baseline), 75.7% of fills landing within 7 days, and the screening rules that follow from the niche's own numbers.

What's inside

Nine sections, one niche

Every report is generated from the same continuously monitored corpus behind the Fill Rate Index, scoped to a single niche and held to the same methodology: aggregates and buckets only, stable cohorts, limits stated in the artifact itself.

  1. 01

    Demand

Monthly posting volume for the niche across the trailing six months.

  2. 02

    Outcomes

The niche fill rate against the 43.9% all-niche baseline, split four ways.

  3. 03

    Time to fill

How fast hires happen, from same-day fills to the over-30-day tail.

  4. 04

    Stated budgets (beta)

Hourly floor and ceiling medians plus fixed-price percentiles, as clients state them.

  5. 05

    Fixed vs hourly

Which budget type actually hires in this niche, with the gap quantified.

  6. 06

    Experience level

Fill rates by the experience tier clients ask for.

  7. 07

    Client quality

Prior-spend mix of the niche and fill rate by client spend tier.

  8. 08

    Client geography

Top client countries by volume, each with its own fill rate.

  9. 09

    Screening rules

The niche's own skip signals, published only where n and the gap are large enough.

How it works

Demand decides the queue

  1. Request your niche, free. Joining the waitlist stores your email and the niche you name. Each email has one waitlist record; its latest non-empty niche counts once toward the tally that decides which reports get produced first.
  2. Pre-orders jump the queue. The founding pre-order ($5, handled by Polar as merchant of record) reserves your niche's report and moves it up the production order.
  3. Delivery by email. When your niche's report is generated, it lands in your inbox. Pre-orders are delivered within 30 days of purchase or refunded in full; waitlist members are notified when their niche ships and can buy it then.

$5 is the founding price and it rises once the first batch of reports ships. Waitlist signup stays free and never obligates a purchase. Full terms are on the terms page.

Stated limits

What these reports cannot tell you

Our data covers postings and their outcomes: what gets posted, what hires, how fast, and what the clients look like. It does not include proposal-side data. We cannot see how many connects a bid costs, what winning proposals said, or who else applied. Nobody outside Upwork can. A report that promises proposal analytics is guessing; ours does not promise them. The rest of what we refuse to publish is listed in the methodology.
