What we collect

Waitlist signups. If you join the niche-report waitlist we store your email address, the niche you optionally enter, and signup timestamps. Repeat submissions from the same email update one record rather than creating duplicates; the latest non-empty niche is the one counted. This data is used for two things only: sending you research updates about niche reports, and counting demand per niche to decide which reports get produced first. It is not sold, rented, or shared beyond the processors listed below.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site usage (pages visited, approximate region, device type). It loads after your first interaction with the page and sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies. We look at this data in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individuals. These are the only cookies the site sets.

Abuse protection. The waitlist endpoint keeps a short-lived request counter keyed to your connection's IP address to limit repeated submissions. It expires automatically after about ten minutes. Submissions caught by our bot trap are not stored at all.

Payments. If you buy a report pre-order, the purchase is processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Polar handles billing, taxes, and your payment details; card data never reaches this site. We receive the email address needed to deliver what you bought.

Who processes it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and stores waitlist records on its edge network.
  • Google processes analytics data under its own terms once GA4 loads.
  • Polar processes purchases as merchant of record when you buy something.

How long we keep it

A current waitlist record expires automatically 730 days after its most recent accepted signup, or sooner if you ask for removal. Older submission logs created before automatic expiry was added do not carry that KV expiry; the documented migration consolidates and removes them, and access or deletion requests search them until that migration is complete. Rate-limit counters expire on their own within about ten minutes. Google Analytics controls analytics-event retention in the property dashboard; that setting is not verifiable from this site's code, so we do not claim a duration here.

Your choices

Email contact@freelancingstats.com to see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you. The operator searches both the current email record and older submission logs created before automatic expiry was added. Deletions are completed within 30 days. We keep no separate waitlist backup. A later form submission creates a new record. You can browse the entire site without signing up for anything, and blocking the analytics cookies breaks nothing.
